Comrade Marwan Abdel-Al, member of the Political Bureau of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, reported on the results of the third Arab Left Forum held in Beirut on January 13-15, 2012, saying that the meeting took the decision to take up the campaign to free PFLP General Secretary Ahmad Sa’adat and all Palestinian prisoners in the jails of the occupation.
Comrade Abdel-Al said that the meeting was a great step for the parties of the Arab Left confronting the imperialist and Zionist project in the reason, supporting revolutions of the Arab masses, supporting democracy and standing firm to confront imperialism and foreign intervention.
Abdel-Al thanked those who attended the meeting, saying that all present felt a high level of responsibility to meet the challenges of the day considering the developments on an Arab and international levels. He said that the Palestinian cause was central to the meeting, reflecting its centrality in the Arab-Zionist conflict and the Arab liberation struggle, and that the meeting expressed its dedication to achieving the full rights of the Palestinian Arab people, including their right to self-determination, return, and full sovereignty. The meeting’s final statement emphasized Palestinians’ right to engage in all forms of resistance for their liberation, and the need to link Palestinian resistance to the launch of a comprehensive Arab resistance movement. He thanked the Lebanese Communist Party for their initiative in hosting the meeting.
